Just what is that causes such criticism she is getting? Is it her age or is it here message or is it both?

The effects of the ever increasing polution of our environment is the root cause of the vastly accelerating global climate change.

What is so difficult in understanding that?
Nobody's in denial Todger, if there's one thing we all agree on is that the climate is changing, but the question is, what can we do about it other than give it lip service and change from one energy source to another which incidentally doesn't come without cost. The human race are specialists in adapting, and rather that trying to fool about with the balance of nature we should be working to adapt to the inevitable.

It is ironic that most detractors are on the way out.

As far as I can tell from her "coached" rantings she acknowledges none of the efforts that have gone into energy efficient systems. In my field alone, power electronics, we spent 50+ years designing more energy efficient systems. Projects were won on improving efficiency.
Yeah but ... she's not there to acknowledge efforts. She's there to cause a stir. Well at least we're all on the same side.

She is crap at directions. If she stopped going to the wrong place she wouldn't pollute the world as much.

Ah! all the usual strawman arguments coming thick and fast.

One of the great things about Greta Thunberg is that she sticks to the point and is not distracted by these stupid non arguments.

She sticks to her arguments:

  • the planet is warming, we are responsible and we need to fix it
  • hope is fine, but it is pointless without action
  • economic concerns are irrelevant in the face of collapsing ecosystems
  • if we do not fix this, future generations will remember us for our failures.

The problem is that the consequences of man-made climate change is so dire that people hide their heads in the sand to ignore the science and kill the messenger.

People have a choice, they can either believe the scientists or big business and the politicians they buy, some choose the later. Climate change denial is a "faith based" phenomenon.

It has been told, that when Donald Trump read the news, he fell to the floor, curled up in a ball, kicking, pounding his fist, chewing the rug and screaming at the top of his voice, "Why not me, why not me?"
