Joseph Goebbels
I'm not sure that a quote by Joseph Goebbels is a clever method of advising us on how lies work.

He was persistent with it, but most, over here, would believe nothing he said.

On the other hand, we sometimes go to great lengths to try to understand what our Politicians, and the Media, are telling us, and even salesmen, and our friends.

It finally comes down to what they say and the way they say it. The information received is rarely enough to allow us to understand.

Bottom line, go with your gut feeling.

Was there cheating in the US elections?

I don't know!

Do you?

We didn't have the internet in those days.

It's not whether there was cheating but whether it would influence the result

Belief in something is not dependent upon the Internet you know.
Ceating fake news influences opinions too - which then influences a result.
Like the pro-EU mob tried with Brexit, though that failed ....... twice.

Exactly ! I have little doubt that a few people cheated with their votes. Probably we could find some on both political sides. However, it is overwhelmingly clear that Trump's campaign of disinformation about massive voter fraud has failed.

In case after case, in state by state, Trump's trolls have been unable to show any voter fraud. Lots of shouting, but no proof.

What is truly sad is that anyone could believe a single thing Trump says.

Thank goodness that the intelligent prevailed during the election .....

Indeed ! Now that Georgia has hand counted, and examined every single ballot, and the Georgia Secretary of State has certified the results, Biden is the indisputable victor.

However, I am very much more concerned that Trump is now attempting to intimidate election officials. This is the type of thing expected of a banana republic. All I can say is, 'Thank, God, that Trump does not have the power to turn the military loose on our government.'

We have stringent laws in place, most notably The U.S. Constitution, which prohibits any president from using U.S. troops on U.S. soil except to enforce the Constitution. Example: way back in the 1950's, when the state of Alabama tried desperately to prohibit blacks from attending public schools, President Eisenhower, used the National Guard to force the racist governor George Wallace to admit blacks into public schools. Important note: the only way President Eisenhower was able to do that was because the U.S. Supreme Court had already ruled that ALL PEOPLE, REGARDLESS OF COLOR, HAD A CONSITUTIONALLY PROTECTED RIGHT TO ATTEND PUBLIC SCHOOLS.

Trump, however, has no such right to use troops to keep him in office. Moreover, by attempting to intimidate election officials, Trump is flirting with treason.

Perhaps Trump could protest about the election in the all American way...

Assassinate the President!

As long as he does it before 20th January 2021 all will be well, his successor won't even have to pardon the assassin - everybody is a winner.

(there is probably an NSA database carefully recording this post now)

Re: Breaking - Joe Biden wins US presidential election

Trumps attempts to overturn the election crashes when he invited the REPUBLICAN leaders of both the Michigan Senate and House to the White House and tried to pressure them.
Both of the REPUBLICAN leaders stated quite firmly that there was no evidence of widespread voter fraud in Michigan.

That, plus the certification of Georgia's hand count, clearly establishes that Biden had won the U.S. election.
