planet check please

taken this evening, I believe it is the planet Mars being the red planet and can JUST be seen with the naked eye.
Really struggled with this shot so best I could do.
Only enlarged/cropped nothing else


I may well be completely wrong of course, so please correct me
I was going to photo the moon but done that before and it is not the moon, that was in another part of the sky

A good demo of what the camera lens can do but the planet is so far away that it maybe doesn't make a good subject. A proper telescope with a camera mount could be thought about. You'd get some good space photos with that combination.

I've been squinting at the original photo RS....its amazing you can magnify to see Mars like that

How on earth did you manage to keep the camera still enough, while using that amount of magnification, for it not to be blurred realspeed....?.. It's an impressive shot all the same....
