problem and answer
Already mentioned I am getting more and more into doing videos. One problem I came across was panning from side to side and zoom at the same time. So the answer was to go remote wireless . Next problem was the "hotshoe" on the camcorder was already being used by the Sony microphone which used the hotshoe contacts but left the micro contact on the camcorder body clear for other gear.Just plugging in the remote receiver left it just hanging, not a good idea so I dug out a sliding bracket to mount it on. solution found as shown below

JJC SR-F2W wireless receiver (transmitter in hand held)
Nikon SK-7 variable support bar
Mamon Pan and tilt tripod head
Prima photo tripod head ( in this case)
having that bar I could fit an LED light if I wanted to instead
as the bar could be swung forward
