Jacob’s dad loved his hats
They’re hung up by the door
Out of reach of his seventeen cats
Two he’d not seen before

Those dratted cats, too, loved the hats
Sitting on them and chewing and worse
They scratched big holes in Jacob’s mats
One bit the district nurse

Jacob had a hat for every occasion
Lots of spare ones too
He needed very little persuasion
To add more, just one or two

Poor Jacob had an older brother
(He boldly popped out first)
Boy was he an ugly baby
So the midwife slapped mum first.

This tale has rambled on and on
It’s past my bedtime now
Tomorrow I may mention brother Tom
I’ll end this, I know not how.

Without batting an eyelid - to follow though where do you start?

Can get one’s Goat
Rub the Nub
Stand and titter

My ginger haired cousin came from Tristan da Cunha
Along with the rest of his tribe
He wanted to stay with us but dad said “Humph ha”
But for now you can stay with us inside

Clarence was the name given him at birth
He would never have chosen it , no way
His mother wanted to call him Garth
But she couldn’t spell Garth on that day

She looked up at the Lorry just passing
Clarence Stores at your service on the side
Bold as brass and without asking
Clarence stores helped her decide

Clarence stayedwith us just one night
The city took pity on him
They quickly relieved his plight
Now he owns alarge GYM.
