Poppies all colours

The British Legion poppy appeal hopes to raise £50 million for ex servicemen this year.

I hope they do .

I agree. Even though my poppy is a brooch and will lat for ever - I still put money in the collection boxes.

Purple poppies are papaver somniferum. I wonder if those who chose that color realised that!

That is the one used in memory of animals in war too.

That's right Tiff.
Today I bought a red one, along with a purple one for the animals too.

All the horses used and killed, and the service dogs.
They didn't volunteer, just got dragged off to war knowing nothing.

That goes for people as well as horses.

Yes, I realise that Spitty, but at least all the brave men and women knew why they were going, but maybe that would have been worse.
