Didn't Tesla reckon he could extract electicity from the atmosphere and send it through the air without the need for wires? It didn't come about possibly because of the fossil fuel companies, a lot of his work files and discoveries went missing! It would have meant much cheaper power.

Some kind of ionisation I suspect. There is certainly much we don't know about the world around us.....
The hairs on my arms stood upright too, so close, it really was scary.

Re: Thunderstorms

We had torrential rain and lots of really loud thunder this morning. I was watching next door's gutters trying to cope. Huge 'rain soldiers' - as Mum used to call them bless her - bouncing off my shed roof, the paths, and the road outside.
Then it cleared up but stayed grey and cloudy.

Early this afternoon I decided to pop down to Asda for a few bits, and when I came out, everyone was sheltering under the canopy outside the foyer because it was horrendous rain again. Pouring off Asda's roof.
As I drove home the drains in the roads began bubbling up! I thought the covers were going to lift but they didn't.

The good news is, the air at the moment is much more breathable than that awful heat last night.
Still grey and cloudy, with outside temperature just touching 21 degs at the mo, which is so much more comfortable than it has been thank goodness.
