Re: Ferguson 6CD Player..........
It's unlikely that the player can be repaired for less than the cost of a new one. These 'multi-play' contraptions are bound to fail - mine did and it was only a three CD unit. Depending on the quality of player you need, they aren't particularly expensive, but I would go for single-play for fewer problems in the future. Why not get one with an MP3 USB socket and transfer your precious CDs to a memory-stick? There's lots of new technology out there for not too much money.Re: Ferguson 6CD Player..........
I've yet to find any 'dirt' on a laser lens, and I've got a fair collection of disc- players. If used regularly, the spin of the disc keeps any dust on the move so it can't settle. I'm afraid these cleaners are mostly a ploy to clean some cash out of your wallet. It's usually the mechanism that fails - too much poor-quality plastic used in the operating machinery. Cleaning a greasy or scratched disc can sometimes be a cure - always worth a try. Also look for hairline diametric cracks - not common, but I've had a couple.Re: Ferguson 6CD Player..........
I do agree that multi-purpose gadgetry is prone to hiccups - I'd really rather have a simple system, but this has been so handy for me, not having to haul myself up when the CD's finished.Re: Ferguson 6CD Player..........
