And bear in mind that if it had been left up to a Churchill-led government in 1945-51 it is unlikely in the extreme that the NHS would ever have existed at all.

Churchill's Tories voted AGAINST the formation of an NHS no less than 21 times before the act to establish it was passed.

Food for thought next time Johnson (whose miserable life it saved) & his merry crew bang-on about how much they "value" this rightly-treasured institution.

such a very sad story, poor woman...waiting times for urgent treatments are going backwards ,this shouldn't be happening in the 21st century, medical staff must be so frustrated when they can't carry out procedures ,no wonder our doctors and nurses are leaving the nhs...

Harsh, I agree.

But any sympathy I may have had for Johnson (which I really did have) disappeared when he later gave his full support to his eminece grise Dominic Cummings - to whom the words Stay At Home clearly don't apply.

Since when has it been a standard of vision for driving that you must be able to drive to Barnard Castle & back without crashing?
