Hi may, it said in today's paper that him and his wife have been discussing it for a long time, so it wasn't only just sprung on her.
Also, it said she intends to " stay with him until he is settled and happy in a new relationship, and then they can talk about an amicable split then."
Telly 'insiders and colleagues' have said " Phil's sexuality was an 'open secret' but never discussed.

If he knew he was gay when he was still single, he should have pursued that life.
Doing what he chose to do instead, i.e. marry, and produce two daughters, has inevitably changed three other peoples lives as well, now. Selfish?

Well, he's had the career and he's accumulated the wealth that goes with it so I guess he feels it's "safe" to come out now ..... not exactly courageous, is he ......

Known gays in the 1990's included Freddie Mercury, Ian McKellen, George Michael, Stephen Fry, Boy George, Julian Clary, Dale Winton, Marc Almond, Paul O'Grady, Michael Barrymore, Christopher Biggins, Nigel Hawthorne, Neil Tennant, etc., etc., so Schofield could, and should, have been more honest about his "leanings" but, for his own reasons, he preferred not to .....
