From what I can recall while living in temporary accomadation while attending university one big problem would be the untidy mess, the smell of unwashed bodies, the excessive drinking, the aroma of strange foods, strange smelling Joss sticks, the noise, the careless parking of cars and so much more.Few people today would be willing to share a house with us. Then there's Snot to contend with ---- nah. Best not to even think about a lodger in our gaff.
