Perhaps you take things too seriously! Many families have jokes like that & I think it is nice to see Tara sharing her sense of humour.

That sort of humour is great, imo. I would hate it if people didn't think they could have a laugh and joke at my expense in case I got offended, which of course I don't.

Re: Grandchildren - do you always side with them?

We don't even get the chance to see hear or talk to our 4 granddaughters face to face and the 2 youngest I have never seen

So talking about whose side one is on is total rubbish, just think how lucky you are instead

my eldest taken 2 years ago aged 8

Re: Grandchildren - do you always side with them?

We get two of ours staying with us for a few days on a fairly regular basis. They are very well behaved so there isn't really a question taking sides. As a family, we all get along so it's a pleasure to capture the wee girls from time to time. They get the odd concession like staying up an extra half hour at night.

I find it very sad if one has an inability to laugh at oneself.

Yes, I agree. But isn't this getting a wee bit off topic?

Some people didn't think the jokes I have with my grandchildren amusing, I fail to see why, no one is having their nose put out of joint.
