Peak District anglers dangerously close to huge plug hole

Two anglers in small boats have been filmed dangerously close to a giant "plug hole" at a reservoir.

They were spotted on Saturday a few metres from a 20m deep overflow hole at Derbyshire's Ladybower Reservoir.

Severn Trent Water, which owns the reservoir, warned people boating and fishing there to keep "well away" from the plug hole and to stay safe.

Flo Neilson, who captured the footage while walking her dogs, said the anglers' actions looked dangerous.

Yikes that is scary. We have something similar locally but on a much smaller scale.

Stupid yes, but there really should be some form of physical safety barrier in place.

I've regularly stood on the bank close to that plug hole and the just the noise is frightening.....

If they're too bloody stupid to keep away then they deserve all they get. The owners Severn and Trent ought to identify these idiots and ban them permanently from the reservoir.
