Didn't have time, but can guess it's content, it came out at the start of the "Party" decade.

thought I'd bring you up to date with our weather - I think solo might be particularly interested if I am guessing right??

IDY28000
Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology
Bureau National Operations Centre

Satellite Notes for 1800UTC Chart on 3 May 2018
Issued at 5:23 am EST Friday on 04 May 2018

Middle and high level cloud is streaming from central Australia across the far
southeast of Australia ahead of a vigorous frontal system moving through inland
NSW and eastern Victoria. This front connects to a low pressure system southwest
of Tasmania with a cold air mass circulating on its northern flank. As a result,
showers and isolated thunderstorms are visible about agricultural areas of South
Australia and western Victoria. Onshore winds are producing patchy low cloud
over the Bight and southern Western Australia coast. Further west, a mass of
cloud from Ex-Tropical Cyclone Flamboyan is streaming over the Indian Ocean with
higher level cloud drifting towards the west coast of Western Australia.
Generally clear conditions elsewhere apart from patchy low cloud over eastern
Queensland from a moist onshore airstream.

as you can see a pretty clear day and we up the top end will be hitting 36C having started at a freezing 18C

It was that dry, off beat humour that was so appealing. Right from the start Mad had some of the best front covers of any magazine then or since

The "extremely important message" was "Please buy this magazine!". Who could resist that

Front covers for those interested

Pug close enough. It was always wise to know who was coming and going in those days either by land, sea or air especially those Aussies sailors, whose only ambition in life was to take on every Marine they met

Strife and Strewth went together.
