For the first time most new cases are being recorded outside China, where the outbreak originated. The virus has now reached countries as far apart as Greece and Brazil.

About 700 people confined to their rooms at a hotel on Spain's Tenerife island following an outbreak will remain in isolation for 14 days, a regional official says.
I still don't think that's a good idea but if "strict" isolation is maintained then the infection may not spread but, if I were a guest then I'd be worried …..

What is odd is that the siblings of kids, supposedly in isolation are still going to school etc. They could be carriers.

I'm fed up with it now!
Can we have something else please?
I hear it's bubonic plague this time next year!

Re: Chinese Coronavirus

Why all the panic? Flu is still the out and out killer virus every year and people still go about their usual business without the need for face-masks, shutting schools, going into isolation for 2 weeks, etc.

Not panic. Just common sense. The covid-19 virus is many times more deadly than the flu.
2.2% deaths/100 Vs.
.1 % deaths/100 for the flu

Re: Chinese Coronavirus

Looking at the statistics for virus infections worldwide it seems
that N Korea is totally virus free?
This is a country that has a border with China as well as strong ties
and economic activities between the two countries? So you would
expect there to be at least a few cases reported, but zilch? nada!
Maybe everybody has allready perished from this outbreak and
there is nobody left to report the tragedy?
Very strange imo!

They're likely to keep quiet about anything that makes their country look weak.
I wonder if Russia has any over there?
I haven't heard of any cases in Eastern Europe yet.

Re: Chinese Coronavirus

Would North Korea admit that they had cases.

Do not think so
