That's one thing I do miss - my Dad's fruit trees and the huge cherry tree that was by the back door. I'd forgotten the gooseberry bushes - I can feel a trip to the garden centre coming on

I had a look our cherry, greengage and gooseberries today.
They are looking fine and all have buds
Spinner, tho' it might be too late, could you fleece your cherries? Might save the buds from another really cold snap.

I can't bear the suspense Spinner, how are your cherry trees and gooseberry?

I bought 2 cherry trees 3 years ago, both stella, and this year is the first that they have set fruit. Last year the frost got the blossom. I shall look forward to eating the cherries around about mid Summer.
