Dutch Elm disease
Just seen in this week's gardening mag, that dutch elm disease is back in the UK. Apparently it wiped out 25 million elms 40 years ago. It has now been found again in the trees at Brighton University. One old tree of 82 ft was felled, they said it was 150 years old, now 6 more have gone too, I think it's so sad to have to lose very old trees like that. It says some of the largest English elms in the UK are on that campus.
