Fed up with being ripped off for 'disabled' devices.

Why do companies hike prices for disabled item?
I'm absolutely disgusted with the treatment of our disabled members of society.

It seems the maths used is retail £ x 3 + 30%

Robbing so and so's
.
Example disabled hoist £839

Engine hoist £185



Same basic engineering though the engine hoist will lift more weight so probably over engineered.

The difference is no way worth £650+

Just had to buy the hoist this morning.
Unfortunately my mum wouldn't consider the engine hoist

It's how I feel.
I'm hungover on emotional turmoil after last nights defeat and now a company supplying hoists has taken my pants down and slapped my Yaris.

I'm gonna gave to go back to work now

Your Mum may not to pay VAT. Look into it, it can make quite a saving.

When my mum was ill the price of a stair lift was abysmal. We got a reconditioned one in the end. That cost thousands though. Seems very unfair

Correct, I didn't pay VAT after showing them her DLA(?) documents.

Still, the prices are crazy......I feel sorry for those on lower incomes/benefits that have to buy disabled devices, it's such a rip-off.
