Massive Password Leak!

CyberNews is reporting that 8.4 bn passwords have been exposed in the biggest leak ever.

So, if you're wondering if hackers have got your email address and/or password, you can go to the CyberNews Website:-

https://cybernews.com/news/largest-c...s-leaked-free/

I'm very careful, with mine, but two of my email passwords have been breached.

I am now changing those asap.

You might want to check yours?

Hi

Yep, I got the warning as well.

Mine are on a random change, so not bothered.

I'm not sure I can trust that site.

I clicked on CyberNews personal data leak checker .... they're selling password security.

Haven't had a warning, so I'm assuming its ok. I'm changing them all anyway, just to be sure!

But you are not forced to buy anything!

For example, if I find mine is breached, I change it.

Then I set up to check the changed one.(in case my new name & password is, somehow, in there)

If Ok I'm out of the current 8.4bn list of breaches.

Then I set myself a reminder to check, say, once a month.

How did you find out your passwords had been breached, was it by clicking the link: personal data leak checker ?

I was thinking along the same lines as you d00d.....
I think I'll wait and see if anything gets compromised or nicked....

Top right of your screen click on 3 dots

Scroll down to settings and click

Scroll down to passwords and click

Will tell if there are any that have been breached.

Yes, but you only enter the email address to be checked, not any passwords.

That begs the question of whether they, actually, have any password in there to check?

In the event, I suspect that only the email addresses are in the breached list.

I think email addresses are, fairly commonly, in a lot of people's possession so might only have the same risk as being listed on M&S website, or some such.

Changing your password & then testing again, still would not send your password to CyberNews.

Bottom line is, if you don't feel safe, don't try it.
