Oh happy day.....

.....at last mortgage paid off-yipee Rang bank to cancel direct debit and was asked what was I going to spend the money on now and would I consider opening a savings account-interest rate 0.5%-no thank you......going to treat myself, don't know what to yet but I'm sure I'll think of something

Great news Merz, . . trust the bank to get in there now you've got a bit spare cash, . . we were the same, they pestered us rotten with offers.

They were very quick Nero-no doubt I'll be getting the calls from them soon

Great feeling Dinahsmum-only downside was to get the Deeds I had to pay another £50 but all done and dusted now

I put the amount of the mortgage payment into my retirement IRA to supplement my Social Security payment; was a big help and a wise move. Back the mortgages were usually 20 year so I was only 55 when it was paid off. Are you having a celebration dinner?
