Driverless Cars?

As much as I dislike Google and their desire to know everything about everyone at all times they do push technology hard when they have a say in the matter. They are going to build driver-less cars which they say will be on the road in just a year's time.

What I find very interesting is that the cars will not need to rely on signals emitted from anything built in to the roads ...

I thought it would be quite a few years before we would see these on roads. Just goes to show what can be achieved with the right backing.

Could be the start of a major road traffic mechanical revolution.

It could be that these cars will not make mistakes so if someone bashes into them it has to be the other person's fault. Once all cars are controlled in this manner crashes would be a thing of the past - so it seems.

Some vehicles already have sensors that apply the brakes if you get too close to the vehicle in front.

Reading about it in my paper. It doesn't say how it steers. Well I'm not getting one then!

Yeah, and why is it that when you take the car to the repair shop the guy looks at the damage and then back at you with a big smirk on his face that makes you want to punch him.
