Re: Airlines weighing people

[QUOTE=Tpin;1020692]But they never/rarely fly at Max payload.
Take Spain for instance, and say a 737 with 4000(?)mile range flying to Malaga(1500m?)
It'll be fueled for 1500m+ whatever ℅ safeguard.

These aircraft are way off Max load.

I agree with bum width surcharge[/QUOTE

lol fancy having your bum measured, upps you are 1" over the size , that will be another £10 please, everybody mearsuring their bums before going on holiday .
I wonder if you would have to go through a gate thing , and if u didnt fit , bit like cabin baggage, you get charged extra .
Wonder how many on here would be paying extra ,
max size is 20" across sitting down

Re: Airlines weighing people

I'd not have to pay for an extra seat at the side of me but, I'd have to pay for the removal ofa row in front

Re: Airlines weighing people

I Think it would be quite unpleasant sitting next to an obese person on an aircraft as they would take up more of the room they had been allocated. Just saying.

Re: Airlines weighing people

Hold on........why can't they mix and match.....put an anorexic type passenger next to a fat one.
Problem solved.

Apart from the fact the thin one may get eaten if there are no in-flight meals.

Re: Airlines weighing people

Son is an airline steward , he says they often have to have additional straps for larger size people sometimes an extra 2or 3 .

I'm of average size but if you think about how small the seats are larger people would have a tight fit as even my size just fits comfortably .

Some of the low cost carriers have now reduced the distance between your seat and the one in front, no chance of anybody reclining their seat

Re: Airlines weighing people

Never mind planes, it's bad enough on the bus when I get trapped against the window because someone plonks down bedside me with rear cheeks like humongous marshmallows that they crush me against the glass.
One day I swear I'll get broken ribs.

That sounds very uncomfortable.

Maybe you could ask, "excuse me would you mind sitting on your left buttock and hanging the right one over the edge?"
Or of course it could be sit on the right buttock and hang the left one over the edge depending which side of the bus you're on

Course, you'd have to ask most politely...

Or ... delicately twitch my snout and sniff the air.
Then say Sorry, I broke wind
