New Brexit Forum and sub forums

Hi All

There have been some complaints about threads concerning Brexit - so, we are trialling this new set-up. The new Brexit forum will house three sections in total.

Brexit Forum

This is the main Brexit forum that anyone can post in. It's the place for general discussions when you want anyone, whether they be pro or against Brexit to be able to take part.

- Pro Brexit

This is a sub-section of the main Brexit forum. To post in this section you must first join the Pro Brexit group via your control panel.

Group requirements are simple - it is for those who are Pro Brexit and this must be reflected in your posts. Strong or relatively strong opposition to Brexit is not allowed in this section, if such posts are made the group admins can remove you from the group.

- Against Brexit

This is a sub-section of the main Brexit forum. To post in this section you must first join the Against Brexit group via your control panel.

Group requirements are simple - it is for those who are Against Brexit and this must be reflected in your posts. Strong or relatively strong support of Brexit is not allowed in this section, if such posts are made the group admins can remove you from the group.

Why?

I think having these extra outlets could result in some interesting conversations. It would also be a great way for people to see the concerns or points of people on the other side of the fence.

We'll still have the main Brexit section for 'debates' and discussions, so all the usual conversations (old and new) can continue to be posted there if that's what the poster wishes.

How do you join the Pro or Against Brexit group?

Click here to see the groups.

- Select the 'join group' for the group you want to join
- Click the 'join group' button below
- Click on 'send request' (you can leave the 'join reason' blank)
- Post in this thread to say you have joined a group (then one of the group admins can deal with your request)

Users will be denied a request if they has shown they are in contradiction of the group's aim/topic.

Who are the group Admins?

That's up to you! If you want to oversee your groups section then please let us know. You will be charged with accepting or denying join requests, and removing people from the group if they don't meet the criteria.

Can I complain if I am removed from a group?

Yes. If you believe you have don't anything wrong, post a thread in the Contact a Mod section and we will take a look.

Re: New Brexit Forum and sub forums

Ok since everyone has had a chance to have their say and the thread contained so many off-topic posts (talk about Brexit rather than the new sections) I have moved all posts to a split thread.

Please only use this thread for:

- Letting us know you've joined a group and would like us to action it
- Posting any questions you have about how these new sections work

If you have any feedback you can use the other thread or post in the Feedback section.

Thanks, enjoy!

Re: New Brexit Forum and sub forums

** Please note the option to join a Pro or Anti Brexit group is still available.

The groups enable like-minded members to share their views without constant interruptions from those with opposing views.

To join simply go to the
..'Control Panel'
..select 'Group Membership '
..then select the group to which you wish to belong.

The request has to be actioned by a Moderator so won't be instantaneous.
If you have any difficulties joining a group please start a thread in the Staff section.
