Afrobeat

"a music genre which involves the combination of elements of West African musical styles such as fuji music and highlife with American funk and jazz influences, with a focus on chanted vocals, complex intersecting rhythms, and percussion."

New to me but it sounds pretty good

Re: Afrobeat

Love it, thanks Psmith.

I used to be into this stuff in the early 80s, not Seun but his father Fela Kuti.

Concerts going on for hours with dozens of people on stage, Fela sang, played keyboards, trumpet, guitar, bongos and -not least- the Sax.

This is an old favourite (cut short).

I don't do the politics .. but I'm not adverse to a dose of anarchism in my music.

17 minutes to spare?

I'm not sure about the value of the footage ... but that sound is cool.
