Yes it's shame but there is no loyalty between employer and employee any more nor the other way round either. It'll have to change eventually or no one will be able to get a mortgage etc as no one will have security of work to ensure paying one.

I believe pensions are paid in advance at christmas, while I don't think the amount pensioners get is enough they are treated well when it comes to collecting their money. Not at all like disabled and unemployed.
