Re: Flu jab 2018 booked

After 19 pages I am still going to have my flu jab.

Has anyone else booked theirs yet?

I am having one, but not sure when. My doctor usually sends an open invitation, to attend one Saturday morning, and we all roll up our sleeve & stand in a queue, just like the army used to.
It has become a bit like a social occasion where we all swap stories whilst waiting, and there are some very amusing people to talk to.
Lots of people go and it always seems more like a pensioners coffee morning than something medical.

Re: Flu jab 2018 booked

I won't be having a flu jab thus year or any other year. There's absolutely no point as it's clear from the available studies that it doesn't do anything to prevent people getting the flu.

Why would I inject myself with a cocktail of horrible toxins and risk the awful (some life changing) adverse side effects when there is nothing to be gained?

MORTALITY RATES

Earlier in the thread Annie claimed that the flu vaccine had reduced mortality rates over the years.

This can actually be examined because the CDC maintains databases of deaths in the US and records the "cause of death" in each case from the death certificates. They publish yearly "Vital Statistics Reports" which detail in great depth, all of the deaths, their causes and they break those numbers down by all manner of categories, race, age etc etc.

However, the CDC being what it is, and perpetuating the "Campaign Of Fear" that they instructed their management to undertake (as per the Glen Nowak powerpoint presentation), the numbers are deliberately obscured.

As you will see from reading any of the reports below, they record deaths according to a vast myriad of individual causes. Yet when it comes to the flu, influenza, they lump these deaths in with another separate cause of death, pneumonia.

This sleight of hand allows them to publish huge numbers rather than the true numbers for specific influenza caused deaths.

Anyway, take a look at the published number of deaths due to "Influenza and Pneumonia" across the past few years.

2006: 56,326
2007: 52,717
2008: 56,284
2009: 53,692
2010: 50,097 (500)
2011: 53,826 (1,532)
2012: 50,636 (1,106)
2013: 56,979
2014: 55,227
2015: 57,062
2016: 51,537

Note that in 2010, 2011 and 2012 they DID provide the separate numbers for influeza and pneumonia. The numbers in brackets above are the deaths specifically caused by influenza. Quite a significant difference can be seen between the pneumonia caused deaths and the influenza caused deaths.

Here are the links to the Vital Statistic Reports where these numbers were published:

2006 & 2007: https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/nvsr/nvsr59/nvsr59_08.pdf
2008 & 2009: https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/nvsr/nvsr61/nvsr61_07.pdf
2010: https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/nvsr/nvsr61/nvsr61_04.pdf (Pg 39)
2011: https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/nvsr/nvsr63/nvsr63_03.pdf (Pg 40)
2012 & 2011: https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/nvsr/nvsr64/nvsr64_10.pdf
2013 & 2014: https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/nvsr/nvsr65/nvsr65_05.pdf
2015: https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/nvsr/nvsr66/nvsr66_06.pdf
2016: https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/nvsr/nvsr67/nvsr67_05.pdf

What is immediately noticable from looking at those numbers is how very similar they all are. Year on year the number of deaths from influenza and pneumonia combined is 50,000 give or take a few.

Doesn't that seem completely wrong IF the flu vaccine is allegedly having a great effect on reducing mortality?!!!

Clearly the vaccine IS NOT reducing mortality. Even though we don't have the separate figures for influenza and pneumonia, the trend there is clear to see. Pretty much nothing is changing in terms of mortality rates.

The flu vaccine is a total waste of time and imho a significant risk given the serious adverse side effects some will acquire.

That’s fine Realist, I’ve been having the flu jab for amost 30 years now due to being the carer for my father when my mother passed away. Thank goodness it kept me free of flu or he would have been taken into care.

It didn't keep you free of flu. You've simply associated an outcome with a cause arbitrarily.
