A grand day out in Great Britain.
My family and I had a grand day out at the SS Great Britain.
Just as we arrived the Mathew replica hove into view, crewed by pirates dressed as schoolkids.
It's a fluke! Anchor by the harbourside.
The blunt end of the big boat.
The sharp end. The dry dock has been covered with glass which has then been covered by water to make it look as if the ship is afloat.
All hands on deck.
Learning the ropes.
A golden unicorn and harbourside slums.
What do you mean you didn't see the unicorn?
The sharp end looking up from the dry dock through the glass.
The propeller, as if I needed to say that.
Inside the ship.
One of the ship's dining areas.
Berths in "steerage"
The kitchen.
The engine room. I love those oil pots.
Mr Brunel with my fair ladies.
A light-well in the first class lounge.
That Brunel was a big fella! Inside the new Brunel museum alongside the ship.
The weather was most excellent, and all in all we had a lovely day out.
