Re: Brexit is like ‘swapping three-course meal for packet of crisps’

I find it a little confusing when this Sir Martin Donnelly, who once was something, or other, gives as an analogy example "Like Swapping a 3 course meal with a packet of crisps"

For me, a 3 course meal is a very British serving.e.g. Steak Pie & Chips with Apple Pie & Custard, to follow - maybe some Mushroom soup as a starter!

Or maybe Braised Lamb!

The thing is, I don't see how we're going to swap these British Meals out, as it were!

Out of the EU, most of the 3 course meals, which I can think of, will still be there, albeit cheaper but produced in the UK.

On the other hand, we probably produce more Crisps than most other Countries. In spite of Gary Linacre

So, I keep reading what this guy is saying and I fail to get my head round it.

Hi

I agree we should all eat healthier and that it need not be expensive, however many choose not too.

Lidls have amazingly cheap veg basic proteins.

We are a nation of pie munchers,Greggs are everywhere.

I am at a complete loss to understand the bit about the electrical items.

As long as they are not 'washed in chlorine' and 'cheap' we should be ok, just duck when you see them coming

So the previous top trade official knows nothing about international trade.... He's just a silly oxford graduate who was director general for economics and permanent Secretary for international trade under Liam Fox. What does he know!

Won't be so cheap without low cost, enthusiastic migrant workers.
