Lemon Balm

I love my Lemon Balm plant & I was wondering if anyone else has one & knows if it can be propagated?

Re: Lemon Balm

Mine doesn't need propogating AC, it takes over the entire garden if I don't stop it !! I've removed most of it now because it became a nuisance. It does smell lovely when you touch the leaves though.

Re: Lemon Balm

Yes I have one AC if I wanted to propagate it I would divide the plant at the roots though like Bird I have trouble confining it to one place in the garden .

Re: Lemon Balm

Rather like a Money Tree plant (Crassula) Just break off a 3 or 4 inch piece of new growth and remove the lower leaves. Place a piece of tin foil across a glass of water and poke the stem through the foil and into the water. New roots will form after a few days. Make sure the water level doesn't go low. Good luck AC

Re: Lemon Balm

Yes I've noticed how my 2 plants in a container (temporarily) have taken off

Thanks everyone, I guess when I plant it in the ground, I'll let it go nutty

I always rub the leaves when I'm outside & just love the scent

Re: Lemon Balm

Lemon Balm is good in a garden - the bees love it - and it also makes delicious tea !

Re: Lemon Balm

Yes I tried tea years ago but my throat felt kind of tight so I didn't try it again. It's worth it to point out too much lemon balm can interfere with some types of medications.
