Badger

Yesterday out walking he dog we met a badger .
I have never seen one alive in the wild .
It was unconcerned by our approach and trundled to its sett as cool as cucumber .
I am aware that badgers are not timid and have a powerful bite so so kept our distance .
But what a pleasure to see this beautiful animal .

What was the dogs reaction? Shame you didn't get a picture I've never seen them in the wild either.

Re: Badger

Great to see one Muddy, they can indeed be vicious if they feel threatened, but are beautiful animals.

Re: Badger

When we first moved here, the very first day we had Mummy, Daddy and two cubs playing in our rear garden jumping over our sleepers, they used to come in regularly until next door decided to put concrete blocks in and wooden fences to stop them from entering the gardens, now they can't get in, but we do see them sometimes walking up our road and over to the woods.

Mungo was very interested but we told him to stay back and he is so obedient he paused and just looked - we were very close about 10 feet .
I was afraid the badger wou,d hurt him if he bounded up to investigate .

Re: Badger

How wonderful Muddy, you were very lucky

Ive only ever seen one alive, trundling along the side of the road

Usually see them in the mornings where they have been hit by cars
