Portugese Tarts

I sometimes make these little tarts as they are not sold in many shops.
I can eat four at once as they are so good.

To Mups and Mags

They are made with shop bought Puff Pastry
Filled with Eggs, Castor sugar, Lemon peel, Cinnamon stick
Corn flour Plain Flower milk

Find recipes on BBC Food and online about the method of baking them.
in Portugal, thousands are bought every day.

Re: Portugese Tarts

They look scrummy but in all honesty nothing like real Portuguese Pastel De Natas.

I have never found a replacement for a genuine Nata whether it be a bakery attempt or an internet recipe.

The true Portuguese recipe and ingredients seemingly just can't be recreated elsewhere.

None of which is to say that other recipes like yours don't make nice results, they do, I made them myself, it's just that they don't come close to a real a Pastel de Nata.

Re: Portugese Tarts

Every time I go to Little Portugal, I buy a dozen. One at a time is never enough. Just love them.........

Please give us the exact measurements for each ingredient if you will. It will be appreciated. I would love to be able to make them, and I will try. I am sure I can do it, since the pastry is puff pastry.
