I agree, Ray. That was a bit naughty of your brother in law to give out your address without your permission.
Maybe, he should have taken the person’s address or telephone number to give to you and you could’ve made the decision to get in touch or not.

I used to do it loads I was much more anti social than I am now, if i saw someone in the street I would do a quick dodge so they could not see me, to be honest i feel a bit sad about now as I did like a lot of them and it does mean you miss out on a bit of social interaction, I have improved a lot now though and I do normally say hello to people I come across and often have a nice chat / reminisce with them

Yes but it's typical of my BIL who is happy to turn up on anyone's door at any time even if they didn't seem to like him. I do feel a bit sorry for the person he gave my address to though, If I'd known they were coming it might have been different.

When I was about 5 I nearly got knocked over running across the road whilst avoiding my friend's mum who was coming towards me as I was leaving school. She was pretty upset as it was a busy road and one of the boys in our class died crossing it the same year. At that time I was afraid of her because she was loud and I found her overwhelming. The funny thing is that I really liked her as I grew older. She's still alive and is a really nice lady.

But yes I will still go to great lengths to avoid people I don't want to talk to. Mainly exes I suppose but also extreme extroverts who make me feel socially inadequate whilst feeding off my energy.
Yes, Annie. I suppose, most people do avoid others at some point.
You were lucky not to have been hit by the car and I can understand you not liking the overwhelming woman’s loud voice.
I can’t bear rasping, loud voices, they do your head in and you can’t think straight!

Pam, How do you do it? Do you hide, speed up your step or pretend you haven’t seen her?

I think some people don’t know how annoying they are and seem to love the sound of their own voice!

DW, I would love to see how you do your ‘quick dodge’!

I admit to sometimes, dodging someone in the supermarket but somehow they still seem to catch me. I don’t mind, if l have the time but some rattle on for ages!

It did not always work it usually depended on how much time you had before meeting up with them, supermarkets are a nightmare as if you miss them in one aisle you are sure to catch them coming towards you in another aisle
