A Computer magazine, points out that there is now a petition going which demands that W7 goes "open source" such that it can be in free public use after MS have finished supporting it.

If that were to happen, I've got a spare computer to install it on. It would be an interesting project for the open source community to take on and interesting for us to see how it turns out.
