Recipes are discussed, utensils are discussed and there are people who learn different ideas and recipes from different countries.

Sounds like a good plan! I am intrigued now - might just have to go look at rice cookers!

Not like you to be so hostile, Twink. Seems a fun thread to me.

I wasn't being hostile, I was just pointing out that discussions & chats are allowed.... as Mags has already said!
I also remember that people who post a new thread want the topic not to be altered & I think the OP made it clear that he wanted to know what others cooked in their Rice cooker!

I don't look new, Twink.

I have no problem with your posts, and your reaction to mine was perfectly normal. In fact, quite typical.

Thank you! The one about Matron was intended as a joke... as I am sure you know!

I know it was, Twink, and Matron was quite amused by it.

Permission to speak? Harbal

Keezoy, Do rice cookers cook like a steamer? I steam all my vegetables.

As for cooking rice, l cook mine in the microwave in a steamer dish thing!

I am afraid that is wrong, you definitely need to get rid of the starch to stop it clumping together or getting mushy especially if you are steaming it - ask any Asian. It only takes a few seconds two rinses is usually enough.

I don't rinse brown rice - waste of time
