Where is Boris Johnson?

https://www.express.co.uk/news/polit...is-Johnson-now
Mr Johnson last appeared on the BBC following last week's exam grade fiasco.

He has now left Downing Street for a UK staycation while ministers handle the A-level results controversy and COVID-19. His Government has now made another U-turn, one of several made during the crisis, which will allow students to use teacher-assessed rather than algorithm-based results for university applications.

Downing Street did not confirm exactly where he is or when he would return, likely due to security concerns.
Boris Johnson has flunked his exams

https://www.ft.com/content/42f39f46-...c-0172673f6efc
Boris Johnson knows the pain of a disappointing exam result. At Oxford university he thirsted for a first-class degree, but had to settle for a second. He retained a jocularly disguised bitterness for his political rival David Cameron, who did get a first, labelling him a “girly swot”.

In England, many school-leavers, unable to take their final exams because of the pandemic, were algorithmically awarded lower grades than their teachers predicted.

Scotland’s government inflicted similar unfairness on its school-leavers, before first minister Nicola Sturgeon reversed course.

Mr Johnson was absent, and then he went on holiday. His education secretary Gavin Williamson was initially defiant, until he accepted on Monday afternoon that students could keep their teacher-predicted grades.

We are fast seeing the limits of Mr Johnson’s governing style. He sees himself as a chairman-leader, who directs and inspires while others orbit him happily. Yet this is inconsistent with the quality of his cabinet appointments. Mr Williamson is education secretary because of his role in Mr Johnson’s leadership campaign, despite having been found wanting as defence secretary.

The prime minister has already resisted calls for resignations, even in seemingly clear-cut cases, such as his adviser Dominic Cummings’ avant-garde interpretation of lockdown rules, housing secretary Robert Jenrick’s ill-advised closeness with a property developer, and home secretary Priti Patel’s alleged bullying of civil servants.

Instead, his team are experts at offering up other scapegoats, especially in officialdom. Witness the suggestion that Public Health England, the body involved in the pandemic’s response, will be replaced. But there are only so many times you can claim officials ate your homework.
Johnson's shambolic government is rapidly becoming a laughing-stock as it teeters, Trump-style from one extreme to another, the only object being self-preservation, whether it be at the expense of 66,000 excess deaths or 40% of a-Level students ferociously downgraded (the figures can always be retrospectively adjusted to suit the message ..... ) .....

I understood BJ was going on holiday to Scotland with his family, even PMs are allowed a holiday and he has certainly earned one after the events of this year.

I am sure wherever BJ is he will be in touch with his ministers,
Omah we do have the technology to keep in touch with people these days without having to be there in person.

So, if he's keeping in touch, why has he made no comment, via technology, about the appalling state of affairs regarding A-levels - communication works two-ways .....

It does seem that the PM likes to dissociate himself from "scandal" and incompetency so that he can (later) blame others for dissaster and failure .....

You don't keep a dog and bark yourself, the examination problems have been caused by many factors and it's down to to the Education Secretary and his department to sort out decisions over which they he presided, that is what they are there for.

Re: Where is Boris Johnson?

Omah, lf Boris Johnson is rubbish. Who do you think would do a better job?
What other Prime Minister/government has had to cope with a never seen before rampant, killer virus? Who would have done better? Diane Abbot looks a good choice.

What about yourself? You seem to be very good at criticising everything the government does! What would you have done if you were the present Prime Minister?

Re: Where is Boris Johnson?

Looks as though the senior civil servant is being strung out to dry for incompetence. It seems more than fair. His job is to advise his minister and do what he is good but in this case the correction algorithm was 100% from the civil service lot. What a surprise!
