It can be caused by crystals in the inner ear that have moved out of position. The Epley thing can put them back into place. Allegedly.

I had a severe bout of dizziness, a couple of years ago.

It was put down to Vertigo, by the Hospital I ended up in.

Two things to think about:-

1) Check with your doctor about ability to drive a car (if you do) - The Doctor will probably clear you but what if he doesn't - someone might get hurt!

2) There was a recent article. in a newspaper, relating this dizziness to problems with Heart Arythmia. Might be worth asking. I know that my problem came about as the battery of my pacemaker was running down. Not confirmed but who knows.
