Re: US Election: Trump denies downplaying severity of virus

I am yet to see where the POTUS has "casually dismissed" the death toll from the Chinese Plague.

Nor for that matter there is anything that he or his government could have done anything to reduce the death toll which at 3% is sadly about normal.

Re: US Election: Trump denies downplaying severity of virus

Looking at the CDC stats for COVID-19 in the USA shows what an appalling mess Trump has led the country into:

40,000
new cases per day (and rising) / 800 new deaths per day (and static)

https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tra...ds_dailytrends

At that rate, there will have been an additional 4,000,000+ cases and 80,000 deaths by the New year .....

And the fool says: “We have done a phenomenal job with respect to COVID-19.”

In a statement last week, US magazine Scientific American said that despite warnings in January and February, the US president "did not develop a national strategy to provide protective equipment, coronavirus testing or clear health guidelines".

So what do YOU think he could have done better taking ALL factors into consideration?

People were probably infected before authorities had any knowledge about this. Playing catch up and reluctant to admit they did not have a plan to deal with it.

Although that may be true, the article that you've linked to is dated April 10th 2020 .....

Nobody has yet to say when this may be over, if we have to live with it , expert advice is constantly changing, constantly contradicted.

The chaos continues with no definitive answers, in USA overly
politicised.

The obsession with covid deaths is macabre.
