Senior Home Office official QUITS after vicious rows with Priti Patel

Did anyone watch Rutnam's statement on the news? I don't think I've ever seen anyone deliver such a brutal reprimand against a government minister. You have to wonder what on earth is going on.

This is also being discussed on www.order-order.com

If Priti Patel is upsetting the Civil Service, she must be doing something right

Throwing his toys out of his pram because he can't get his own way? His career has hardly been a stellar one, what with multiple gaffes, some may say incompetence?

At first glance Annie l would say Rutman is refusing to do what
Priti asks him to do? He has probably been in his cushy job for too
long and believes it is his job to direct policy instead of him
facilitating Priti's wishes by the most efficient manner?
I believe we will find he is a devout remainer as well, and this could
be part of a wider attempt at sabotaging brexit again?
Priti and Boris have my complete support in this, these so called
Manderins have served themselves for too long?

I agree with you on this Donkeyman, lots of people have as you say, become too secure and self important in cushy jobs.
High time their boat was rocked and a few of the Scunners fell out..ORů..Got a damn good soaking.

Blair politicised the civil service. Check it out.

(It's safe. I use "tinyurl" to reduce long url's and check for bugs. This one goes to BBC.)

Oh dear, oh my, the poor little mandarin has thrown his dummy out. For God's sake, grow a pair, man.

Good for you Priti; stick it to the useless jobsworths in your department. .

Hi

He could have resigned quietly with a big payoff.

Ill Health, stress, protected full pension.

He turned this down.

He is either a hero or an idiot.

The Tribunal will be interesting, he had better be fully locked and loaded.

He will have to fund the costs himself, Pritti will have the full force of Government behind her.

Expect a huge battle about the release of sensitive information.

Re: Senior Home Office official QUITS after vicious rows with Priti Patel

I think he he misunderstood the meaning of the two words, Civil and Servant.

Civil Servants are employed at the taxpayers expense, to serve the public and to carry out the wishes of a legitimately elected government It is not their place to judge whether the policies of the government suit them personally, if they disagree with what they are being asked to do and they can't in all due consciences carry them out, they should not obstruct them as appears to be the case here, they should resign.

The Electorate will have the final say on government policies at elections and if they don't like them they will kick them out.

No doubt he will find a sympathetic judge, who will award him a huge sum of money. After all judges are civil servants too.

The whole system needs to change and the sooner the better.
