Longy, I still stink like l work in a chippy! That blue smoke that comes off the hot oil isn’t exactly, ‘Evening In Paris’!

Oh, ok then, l’ll cook them again tomorrow night. Will you require bread and butter?
Are you bringing the mutt?

I’m not a big fan of faggots! Maybe, the word ‘Brains’ is off putting?

Hah, that's what I've always thought too, Art. Puts me right off.

Your fish & chips looks scrummy.

Meg, l suppose they weren’t exactly healthy but l’d imagine the oil l used, might be better than the the oil used in chip shops?
I was surprised how the simple batter of flour and soda water could be so nice.

I just wish, l had arranged it better on a larger plate for the pic!

Mups, The unfortunate word ‘Brains’ does conjure up, well....brains! Eeek.

The fish and chips were really nice. I got the recipe off ‘This Morning’ a while back and the fish did look much nicer on there.

Re: My Homemade Battered Fish And Chips.

Artangel, you could always make the dish again very soon and pretend your doing it Gordon Ramsey style and make it look on the plate like it is something you would find in an art gallery lol (fish and peas must be at the correct angle and position on the plate, tartar sauce placed in such a way that it looks like something Michael Angelo would do haha )

Then take a picture of it so we can all see

Ok, Dodge. In fact, l might get a professional photographer in to take the pic!
I must practice my Gordon Ramsay swearwords, in case they do a video too!

Faggots are meatballs made from minced off-cuts and offal, especially pork (traditionally pig's heart, liver, and fatty belly meat or bacon) together with herbs for flavouring and sometimes added bread crumbs. It is a traditional dish in the United Kingdom, especially South and Mid Wales and the English Midlands.

Although faggots are traditionally served with mash'n'peas, a faggot'n'pea batch is still a Coventry favourite:

This is how "proper" faggots are made - be warned - the video is not for those of a sensitive disposition .....

"Brain's" faggots are a manufactured, and inadequate, substitute for the real thing:

but they, too, can be an aquired taste, mostly because of the gravy .....

Re: My Homemade Battered Fish And Chips.

I know it’s ancient, at least 50 years old but this is my mother’s chip cutter that l use to cut my chips!
If they used it in a restaurant, they’d be closed down!
