I've been on cable since it came to our area in 1995. It was Cabletel back then, later to become NTL and then Virgin Media. A few ups and downs over the years but generally not too bad.Re: internet fibre optic

There's also the issue of your own wifi, our router appears to have a max transmission of 65Mbps which is slower than BT say I could get from the cabinet which is about 50 feet away. As it is we get nearly 20Mbps on the copper and I've never found it restrictive, it's just the upload speeds that are low.Re: internet fibre optic

When I joined it was GPO telephones way back in 1972. no electronic switchboards back then even in firms. Used to have a stack if reference books to different types of systems called "plans" , ie plan 107/105 the boss sec. setup and small manual boards (2+4- 3+12- 4+18. lines and extns)
