During its decline I came across this site with its far superior software and have been here ever since.

I don't belong to any other forums though I have belonged to some specialist (Google) groups such as cycling and IT Training (I teach seniors how to use computers and phones) though these days I never use them and am quite happy to pop in here occasionally each day, it's quite fun.

FB (the group we must never mention) I do use occasionally
Yes this forum can be a lot of fun at times.
I think we all need that occasionally.
I love your interesting photo story threads.

I post in games, I do that to fill in time, when waiting for replies sometimes.
Some of the game threads are really good fun. But I find you are more suited to wonderful stories.

Re: Why did you join a forum?

I joined, cos I thought it was a dating site.

No, really, I joined just simply to chat with other folks, about all sorts of things, at the time I was going through major upset in my working life, and I thought maybe some folks could empathise with what was going on, plus I have no friends, that I see anymore so being on here gives me somebody to interact with..

The reason for starting was the need for information.
It is nice to share information, and I like the help that members give. I think I have helped a few here to simply sort out a few problems with photo posting and YouTube.

We occasionally get those looking for me than here. They don't last long.

We are all glad you did Doody. X

Re: Why did you join a forum?

My Children bought Me a desk-top PC when I first retired though I hadn't a clue what the heck to use it for apart from e mailing/shopping etc',so looked around for somewhere I could meet like minded Friends, and Like some others here,I joined the Saga Zone when it started up and stayed until it closed, joined another one which didn't last long then looked around and found the OFF...I'm not on FB or any other Social Site, but look in here most days..I miss a lot of fun/witty Folks who have left, and I sometimes think I've seen and heard it all before...but..there's usually something to keep Me coming back..long may it last,

Not really! My previous forum didn’t make many of us welcome any more. Twink suggested l joined here, even put a good word in for me!
We were made so welcome and the rest is history!
You are an original member as I recall.
You came with friends, I did also.
Some stayed, some went, some came back. I like this forum the best.

You like debates I guess.

I did like the fact there were women on this site too.
How do you know they are women?
I have seen a certain member, now banned in a day, that was actually a female.
How do I know these things, I have seen the same on other forums.

In those days, I'd discuss the hind leg of a donkey if it was anything to do with computers and was a Moderator on a couple of other forums.

I got tired eventually and turned down the modships. I'm really not the 'forummer' I used to be. I think a person can get a little forum-worn after 20 years and I'm just happy to read a few forums now and occasionally contribute.
Yes but you are here a little more often now.
Nice to know the members I can ask about certain problems, if I need to.

On returning to London, I rekindled my old Photography interest, getting my first digital camera. And for 3 or 4 years before joining OFF spent 90% of my internet time on photo forums.
We are looking for someone to run the photo comp. Have a think please.

Soooo I joined and here I still am, but my friend she left a few years ago....HAH.
I am glad you stayed Roxy.

I was introduced to this site by Doc Holiday, a member of a previous forum, and found that once people got to know you it was easy to find people you got on well with. I am still here because, although there are times when I have lost interest, there are some of the long term members who still make me smile!
That is good Twink, many make me smile.

Good places to get info and chat about specific interests.
I was on the same DIY forum as Longdogs and JBR as well. It became too PC in the end and I got fed up.
JBR also pointed me to this one.......
So I get it, JBR kidnapps. Lol

I was invited here by a good friend from Cheshire, A Lancastrian I grant you, but a friend nevertheless. The mods on here are so much better and are more tolerant of minor misdemeanour's and only clamp down when necessary as should be the case. It's a friendly place by and large so do most of my posting here. Besides, I'm a hairs-breadth away from victory on the LTP thread and there's no way I'm leaving until victory or death is mine.
I don't know how to tell you this Judd ..... but victory will never be an option, unless you kill all the ladies & we are like the Amazons!

Being retired and a 'Billy no Mates' I missed talking to folk (Mrs Fox has heard all of my jokes and adventures) so checked out a couple of over fifties forums. This one felt like a comfortable pair of slippers with real caring and interesting people.

If this site ever closes I will join a monastery and never speak to anyone ever again....
Oh Foxy it will never close. X
I love your threads and your banter.
Interesting how members found this site.
I just came across it.

I have only ever left one forum because I was being pestered by lonely females looking for a partner. I am not looking for romance. I have a hard enough job looking for my socks when I get out of bed each morning let alone romance.
As for the 'games' I very rarely take part but love reading some of the posts on them and find most very amusing. Keep them going.!!
The random question thread is fantastic sometimes, then it goes through weird phases.

Well this is a good forum for chat and banter. Enjoy it.
