It took me a long time to find this little bastard but I knew (s)he was there. It is an Orb Weaver (I think) they build massive sticky webs this one was building it across my front door on the verandah. When I found it I relocated it to a part of the house I never venture (but the meter reader will have to get past it).I used to have one building a web across a two metre gap, that's how effective they are. Their webs are very annoyingly sticky and the first you know about them is when you walk into them.

When I left the house this morning for my walk I was greeting by the smell of smoke. It was from hazard reduction burns being carried out in the Southern Highlands and the National Parks. The smoke eventually blew away as the sea breeze picked upJust taken with my phone as I walked.
