Re: Quinoa

Yes you can Patsy. personally I am not keen on it as it has a slightly bitter taste, I think it's a grass grain so quite wheat like. It's better as a savoury where you can add more flavours to distract from the bitterness.

It's said to be a perfect protein so very healthy for you.

Re: Quinoa

It's ok and nutritious my grandchildren eat it but then they eat anything having been brought up on BLW (baby led weaning)

I use it in one of my many salads mixing it with blanched peas and sweetcorn/ finely chopped red pepper and spring onion/ mint/lots of black pepper.

Re: Quinoa

Try it Patsy. It's incredibly nutritious. It's not only a protein but contains all the minerals and amino acids you need! I prefer it savoury but my d-i-l eats it as porridge with fruits like blueberries or blackcurrants and maple syrup. Its texture is different and takes a bit of getting used to if you're used to eating oats!

You're tempting me Anzac - I like me porridge - I was reading up about Quinoa and I like the fact it has all those nutrients and amino acids - I'll give it a go
