Re: Train knife killing

You would need someone to implement a curfew and I think that it would be nigh on impossible in London.
But something has to be done .

Re: Train knife killing

There is a sad pattern here as I see it partly by what the papers do not say .
Despite the families denials the moped killing is almost certain to be drug/gang related ..
No one is saying why a 14 year old boy is riding a moped on the streets
Or how a 14 year old has a moped to start with.
There doesn't appear to be a father in the scenario.
All these things don't add up to anything good.

And there is a picture of him sitting on it wearing a mask and making a gun / gang sign?. However, the family seem to maintain he's some little sweetie?

Also, if they all care for him as much as they are saying, why are they letting him use this bike illegally? There is nothing stopping them from confiscating it / chaining it up.

Like I said, more to this that we think.

Re: Train knife killing

A joint effort from multiple parties, school, community centres parents and police is needed to build bridges. Getting the message across early and steer them away from gangs.

Re: Train knife killing

Most of these youths come from dysfunctional families with an absentee father .
Bridges built ?
We are talking criminals here thieves drug dealers and murderers ,we want the police to get them off the street and into jail not build bridges with them .

We need zero tolerance New York style .
We have to re employ stop and search

Knife crime in London dropped between 2009-2014 when the number of police stop and searches was hugely increased.
It was effective .

Then in 2014, the then Home Secretary Theresa May ordered the police to scale it back for fear of discriminatiin against ethnic groups.

Then knife offences in England and Wales surged again !
If that wasn't prove of something I don't know what .
The police probaby do stop and search certain ethnic groups more than others.
But then certain ethnic groups commit more crimes !

Minor offending is often a cover for bigger offending .
So we have a 14 year old boy riding a moped .
Its self a criminal offence .
Now everyone is mourning a dead child .
The family making statements -where were they went he was out on that moped ?
Statements from those who knew him spoke of him riding the moped .
If they had reported this to the police or at least his family he might be alive today.
However there is fear involved here too .
How many people knowing how lethal these gangs of youths can be are going to grass them up ?

Re: Train knife killing

whose responsibility is it to improve parental skills on bringing up responsible kids ; improve the social education of these kids and turn them into worthwhile citizens -is this a family responsibility only or does the govt at all levels need to get involved?

Re: Train knife killing

Hi

The Police and other Agencies have been severely cut.

What did the Politicians expect?

The amount of paperwork involved in a prosecution of even a minor offence is now stupid.

Local Courts have been closed.

If our local Police want to remand someone they have to take them to a Court 40 miles away, a complete waste of time.

Re: Train knife killing

Boris Johnson when elected cut Knife crime by 40%

He went to the local communities to explain..in some he was booed but then they started listening.

He kicked the police arses.

The link does not explain it all but.

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/pol...ife-crime.html

And maybe this is a better one.
