Surely the main criteria for calling a screw a screw is that you
should be able to screw it?(if you will excuse the phrase) Todgy!
The customer should no have get a degree in screwology in
order to purchase a simple thing like a srew should they?
There should be only one standard for screws not twenty shades
of grey? And that standard should be ADEQUATE imo!

Hi

Hang on a minute folks.

A virus can mutate anywhere.

It could have mutated here in the UK.

What state would we be in if other Countries went after the UK.

That would depend on whether it mutated to a benign entity.

Common sense says yes and there obviously are implied performance factors however the consumer is at the end of the dust to rust path. The gotcha is where there is someone along that path that specifies what he buys and the end user.

For example if I want to buy a micrometer then I could buy a Mitutoyo thing beast, a make that is pretty much the dogs danglies or an el-cheepo thing for under a tenner.

If I then put my name on it while they both look similar --- well the rest is obvious.

Both will have been manufactured to my spec, both might say made in Japan, but they will be very different after a very short time.

Actually I'd not bother with a mike' these days. I've got a digital caliper that cost me a fiver on eBay. It's very high quality because it complies with all my requirements and perhaps remarkably it's accurate to ± 2 last digit! - For a fiver!

Or you could buy British Todger and make it a Moore & Right or a Starrett...
But I can see your point about the Digital Vernier, why have six Micrometers when you can have one accurate vernier.....

I don't know where you found a digital Vernier for a fiver Todger, this one was the best I could find at £20...
