I have actually seen quite a few with chopper style handlebars (ape hangers). Usually ridden by old fat blokes with white beards and leather waistcoats. There are still a lot of Hell's Granddads about who are still able to ride real motorbikes, I suppose this is how they end up when they are no longer able.
