Mass Protests

Mass protests worldwide. Some for the most ridiculous reasons that trigger more violent protests and then get out of hand. Others of a far more serious nature, but they no longer seem to have any impact. Governments continue to ignore the people , many are dictatorships, but also democracies.

Do you think they are democracies gone bad, or are 'people' now beginning to find a reason to protest about anything, or are they being whipped up by outside forces ?

It may be a bit of everything, but with so much unrest in the world and connectivity, it seems at times as if the whole world is defending itself against bureaucracy . Is this what 'globalisation' brings ?

In the last month:
Hong Kong, Catalonia, France, Cairo, Moscow, Jakarta, Lebanon, Chile, Jerusalem, Ecuador, Netherlands (farmers) Peru, Haiti, Iraq, plus more.

So many more places that seem to have faded into the background, such as Venezuela which still has the crisis . The African countries we never hear mentioned, but it happens.
People generally protest to get the worlds attention, but it would seem the world is now turning it's back on everyone else's problems apart from their own.

The UN is almost bankrupt and apparently can't afford to pay their 41,000 staff this month ! (Royals are far better value )

Re: Mass Protests

I've said it before. Proests and petitions mean nothing. They don't work.

Any semblance of democracy in the UK ended years ago. People mistake universal suffrage for democracy - but it is far from it.

They're all our kids and grandkids.

I blame the parents.

I have to agree. I don't really know much about other countries but here, they are just a waste of time. The powers that be will do exactly what they want to do despite any opposition whether it is seen as right or wrong doesn't matter.

Re: Mass Protests

At the very least protests raise public awareness.

What is needed now that the enemies of democracy have obstructed BREXIT is public action. Hopefully it will soon commence.

Even simple isolated things when done in numbers work.

"Gorilla 2 part clear epoxy resin" discreetly squeezed into locks of commercial premises for one.

And there's loads more. We've been let down most awfully by our government. Time for direct action now.
