Re: Tories waste months - Now this.

In my mind it would have been easier to simply leave with no deal, then, any deals we wanted to make could have been done at a later date, with a level playing field.

Thats what l thought would happen Roxy?
But then all the screams went up about ten different kinds of
brexit, and May effectively stuffed everything up by calling an
election she did'nt need and then agreed everything the eu proposed
leaving an inextricable mess!
Im certain May was/ is working for EU? nobody could make so
many consecutive stupid mistakes and be a prime minister??

I agree, and have said that all along.

I think we all know what the EU leaders are like. They see us as weak, largely because we are very much a split society.

They also realise that our leaders are incompetent and, worse, many of them are their allies either because they have been bought off or are genuinely in favour of our becoming a vassal state of the EU.

If we really want any meaningful deal, we must leave the EU first and become completely independent.

After that, and especially if and when we become a more influential nation, they will be much more willing to make a deal that benefits us as well as them.

We will have to be patient. Our traitors will prevent us leaving or obtaining anything better than Boris's/May's deal.

We must wait until we can manage to have a general election. Then, if the majority of us still value our sovereignty, we will vote in a government with a working majority which will allow us to walk away to our freedom.

It is the cretinous actions, of the opposition benches, traitorous, self-interested, and mostly has-been Tory MPs, the utterly partisan behaviour of the Speaker of the House and especially the sheer intransigence and supercilious attitude of the EU negotiators over the past three years, that has brought us to where we are in these final days.

The blame lies solely with each and every one of the above with their pretence of respecting democracy, whilst taking every opportunity to trample over it.

They are an absolute disgrace.
After all this time you still fail to understand that there is no obligation for MP’s to act on the result of an advisory referendum. Only the government has any obligation and that is only that they must take the result into consideration. Your continual ranting just demonstrates that you really didn’t understand the terms of the referendum when you voted

This deadlock could have been avoided with a binding confirmatory referendum which would have imposed the”will of the people” on parliament and they would not have been able to vote against it but many polls indicated that the “will of the people” had changed and leavers ran scared of holding one

Now we have Boris acting like a dictator trying to rush through a bad deal that will see the Conservatives stripping away standards and rights of those who thought Brexit would improve their lives

You blame EU negotiators for doing their job better than the the UK ones being directed by an incompetent government.

As far as acting on self self interest in Parliament goes Boris is top of the pile by a country mile

Months were wasted for the Tory party to anoint "pants on fire" BoJo as PM but now the biggest constitutional crisis in a generation has to be voted through in 3 days.

Only the Tories could be as breathtakingly incompetent as this.

The media and most correspondents didn't seem to have a problem with reading 110 pages of the updated WA

They can even get the letwin bill through in about 3 days ... but not this one... even after 3.5 years of debate in the commons.

The remainers in parliament need to realise nobody believes them. 17.4 million people are sharpening their pencils in readiness for judgement day. I can wait to watch the quislings go knocking on doors begging for votes to save their careers

Re: Tories waste months - Now this.

It's matterless because Westminster will be abolished in totality as will the UK Political Parties. This is all stated in black and white in the Lisbon Treaty which Tony BLiar signed us up to without ever consulting the voting public.

MP's don't care one hoot what we think about them because they are on the EU gravy train and protected by the collective body.

We are not going to be permitted to Leave, all we will get is a fudge deal that sees us Remain in the EU.

In a few years time they will go through the motions of pretending to table a motion to re-join the EU (which we will never have truly left) and the fiasco will be complete. We will then be locked in the EU permanently with no way out.

Three days for the letwin bill of four pages, approx. a day per page. So 110 pages would take?

It wouldn't at all. The legal status of the referendum is irrelevant to the outcome. We were told time and time again by the government that whatever we, the people decide, the government will deliver.

If you feel that strongly then we should just change the legal status of the 2016 referendum to "legally binding" then you can stop boring us to death with the same old arguments from 3.5 years ago, over and over again.

I think self interest is more in the hands of Jo Swinson who makes no secret of her undemocratic, broken opinions, but there again what are we to expect from a lightweight leader who is nothing more than the stuck-up "head girl of the students union". The lib dems are just like the EU and XR, communist fronts for wealthy morons.

I can't wait for Jo Swinsons brigade of "soccer moms" to knock at the doors of voters north of London in the lead up to the next general election

Driving home was difficult, today, as roads from London seem to have been blocked by large piles of Dummies.
