I shoot them whenever I can Doc, they are at plague proportions around here after a mild winter and spring but they will hopefully be going out to the fields once the harvest starts. However, a friend of mjne has bought a decoy bird of prey, which is perched on his gutter and seems to have some deterrent effect..

Re: Pigeons

They ate our strawberries so aren't my favourite bird at the moment, but I still like seeing the big fat wood pigeons and their slimmer cousins. It's seagulls really annoy me, they do far worse poops and do a dance on our caravan roof at the weekends waking us up far too early !

Re: Pigeons

Don't get me wrong i love birds in the garden the small one's that is. Pigeons i believe carry some sort of disease which can affect humans and not good for pets either, the feathers and poop is very annoying also the constant flapping of wings and that awful coooing noise goes on for ages grrrr!!

A perfect cure for this problem....every night before you go to bed....throw bread on your neighbour's roof.

The dog does not allow any pigeons, foxes, cats, squirrels in the garden.

Re: Pigeons

They always seem to know when we have washed one of the cars, and over they fly pooping like mad.
