petrol prices.

I live in London and the cost of a litre of petrol is around £1.20.

Drove down to Eastbourn to day and I filled up my car for£1.13 a litre.

Both of the stations where ASDA.

WHY???

Any were cheaper in your parts?

Re: petrol prices.

one of our local garages has just change hands. The previous owner was caught watering the petrol in the tanks and went back to his own country before getting into court.

Having said that petrol prices around here can vary from garage to garage by anything up to 4p a litre

No the far north of Scotland is much more expensive than the central belt. It's £1.16 at Tesco according to my daughter in Dundee, we pay £1.27 up here..

Re: petrol prices.

Be glad you dont live here, fuel prices vary by the hour and they are all about the same price in an area. 95 octane could be 1 40 liter at 8 am, at 9 am it could be 1.80 litre. It can even change whilst you are filling up so you pay the price whatever at the cash desk. Non of the stations have any control over prices, it is always done automatically . We bought Diesel at 1.06 on Monday Morning , by the time we came home it was then 1 33 litre

Re: petrol prices.

Hi Galty.
Digging out my receipt just now, I paid 113.7p per litre for some fuel this week from Asda. I believe it was down 2p in the budget.
It seems that prices may be fairly similar nationwide as I live in Yorkshire, which would generally be cheaper than down south.

Re: petrol prices.

Petrol companies claim the price rise and fall at the pumps depends on the price of a barrel of oil. This is a load of rubbish as they bulk buy way in advance of price alterations. It is just a case of what they can get away with

Cheapest in my neck of the woods is 121.9 Tesco for diesel today, but we don’t have an Asda!
